INSPECTION, TESTING AND CERTIFICATION OF ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS
Course Profile

 

A comprehensive 1 day short course is an introduction to testing to BS7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations 16th Edition) and is suitable for those who lack practical experience or require a refresher.

 

A 1 day course, starting at 8.30am and finishing at around 4.30pm, designed for electricians.  The course will include exercises and discussions on common problems encountered during the course activities.

 

Topics covered

 

Discussions on the relevant part of

·         BS7671 (16th Edition Wiring Regulations)

·         Part "P" Building regulations

·         IEE Guidance Note 3 – Inspection and Testing

·         On Site Guide – published by the IEE

 

The following will be demonstrated

·         Radial circuits and equipotential bonding

·         Ring circuit continuity

·         Insulation resistance and polarity

·         Earth loop impedance and RCD protection

 

Completion of the following will be discussed

·         Domestic Installation Certificate / Electrical Installation

·         Minor Work Certificate

·         Periodic Inspection Report

 

Who should attend?

 

This course is ideal for electricians who lack practical experience or require a refresher.

 

Prerequisites

 

Delegates must be familiar with the BS7671 (16th Edition Wiring Regulations) and Guidance Note 3 Inspection & Testing (latest edition) and are advised to bring copies with them.

 

What’s included?

 

A comprehensive set of course notes are provided for future reference and a certificate* is issued to each delegate (this is supplied within 28 days of completion).  Lunch and refreshments are also included.

 

 

 

 


* In the unlikely event of a delegate failing the course, they are welcome to attend another suitable venue free of charge.
